Bermuda Gas Clear View barbecue cylinders are valued for their numerous benefits, and now 13 lucky people have each won a prize, just for renting a cylinder.

Twelve new composite cylinders and a stainless steel barbecue were awarded, with several of the winners on hand for the prize giving, held in the Bermuda Gas Showroom on August 30th. Members of the RUBiS Energy and Bermuda Gas teams attended to congratulate the winners of this co-sponsored programme.

“The summer Enter.Win.Grill.Grin promotion drew attention to the three key benefits that composite cylinders have over their traditional steel counterparts.  The most important of these is that they are translucent, so there is no longer a reason to run out of gas when grilling,” according to Bermuda Gas General Manager, Judith Uddin.

Composite cylinders are also about 50% lighter than the steel versions, making them much more convenient to move from place to place.  Equally importantly, composites will not rust or flake so there are no more messes or rust marks to contend with.  This also means that they will require no maintenance and be around for years to come.

“We congratulate all the winners and remind the public that barbecue cylinders are available year round from RUBiS service stations as well as from the Bermuda Gas Distribution Centre on Serpentine Road,” said Judith Uddin, General Manager of Bermuda Gas.

Hamilton, Bermuda, August 5th, 2013: Today Mr. David Rose, CEO of RUBiS Energy Bermuda, made
the following announcement.

Mr. Rose said, “RUBiS Energy Bermuda was both proud and pleased to be in the position to assist
WindReach by sponsoring their 4th Annual Archery Competition Day, which saw over 50 individuals, both
with and without special needs compete. At the Archery Competition we also donated a specialised
sports wheelchair, valued at over $3,000.00. These specialist wheel chairs are of vital assistance
because regular wheelchairs are unstable and unsafe for the many sports that are provided at
WindReach.”

Ms. Erica Fulton, Executive Director of WindReach said: “We are extremely grateful to RUBiS for
sponsoring our Annual Archery Competition and for donating the sports wheelchair. WindReach uses the
chairs on Saturdays when we host our wheelchair basketball games as part of our Adaptive Sports
Programme, and the extra chair will enable more able-bodied friends and family to participate in our
basketball programme alongside those with special needs. This donation will increase the number of
wheelchairs WindReach has to 9.”

Mr. Jermaine Simons, Sales Manager at RUBiS, finished by saying: “It is not common to find programmes
that enable persons with disabilities and seniors to become active and enjoy sports activities. The
WindReach Adaptive Sports Programme provides unique opportunities for these individuals to build their
confidence and self-esteem. Tools, such as the sports wheelchair, are an integral part to removing
limitations of one’s ability. At RUBiS, we are proud to support WindReach as they seek to enrich the
quality of life for individuals with special needs.”

Hamilton, Bermuda, July 16th 2013: Today Mr. David Rose, Chief Executive Officer of RUBiS Energy Bermuda, announced their financial donation to Outward Bound Bermuda.

Mr. Rose said,” On behalf of RUBiS Energy Bermuda, I am very pleased to donate $5,000 to the local summer 5-day Programme of Outward Bound held in Bermuda.”

He continued, “When we were first approached by Mr. Elliott Hubbard, Director of Outward Bound Bermuda, it was clearly evident that their programmes were aligned with the charitable and community oriented objectives of RUBiS. The summer programme is a marvellous opportunity for our youth to learn valuable life and leadership skills in a very well structured and fun environment.”

Mr. Jermaine Simons, Sales Manager of RUBiS Bermuda added, “The Outward Bound Residential Programme based at Paget Island helps our pre-teens and teenagers to learn critical decision making techniques.  These can include high performance team dynamics, outdoor skills and environmental stewardship – all of which are positive ideals that RUBiS, and us as a community can support. This programme gives each and every one of them the opportunity to develop skills that will stand them in great stead for the future and the decisions that they must make, many of which may well be life changing. We at RUBiS are proud to assist wherever we can.”

Hamilton, Bermuda, July 11, 2013: Today Mr. David Rose, General Manager of RUBiS Energy Bermuda, announced their support for the Bermuda Sloop Foundation’s Sail Training Vessel, Spirit of Bermuda.
Mr. Rose said, “It is with a great deal of pleasure that we offer our support to the Spirit of Bermuda by donating a year’s supply of diesel fuel for the vessel.”

He continued, “It came to our attention that due to cutbacks in grants from a variety of sources, this charity was in need of assistance to continue with their very worthwhile programmes which provide positive team-building and character development for the youth of Bermuda, particularly at the Middle School level (ages 11- 14).”

Mr. Jermaine Simons, Sales & Marketing Manager of RUBiS Energy Bermuda said, “The Spirit of Bermuda has recently reached out to the private sector for support and we felt that this fitted very nicely into our corporate positioning which is one of education and supporting Bermuda’s Youth.”

Continuing he said, “We are very proud to be able to assist such a worthy cause and are sure that our donation of fuel will enable those children that participate to engage in a healthy and educational activity that they will remember for the rest of their lives.  Children that participate will find a valuable experience to help assist them in being productive members of our community”
