The Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative of Bermuda is a dynamic not-for-profit organisation established in 2002 to bring best-practice enterprise education and youth development programs to Bermuda.

Chartered on April 1, 2002, the Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative of Bermuda is a registered Bermudian Charity (Registration No. 616) current through November 2015

The mission of the Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative of Bermuda is to foster an entrepreneurial spirit among the youth of Bermuda.

We believe that instilling the skills of business formation in people at an early age empowers them to respond to the changing needs of the marketplace and is a sustainable solution to long-term economic self-sufficiency.

The refinement of business skills leads to the growth of leadership abilities in youth, teaching them to take the initiative for change in their own lives and societies that they know. Training, technical assistance, and mentorship are, without a doubt, the most important steps for successfully empowering a young person to overcome nearly any problem.

We accomplish this mission through a number of direct and indirect service programs which utilize cutting edge technologies in workshops, courses and competitions delivered through public/private partnerships. The YEI also provides project management services to government departments for community outreach programs which focus on youth development.

In each case, the YEI establishes a collaborative partnership with public agencies, other charities, and the business community.

The YEI’s core program BizCamps are being held for the 15th summer. This year we have modified them to 7-day programs. We will hold two sessions between July 6th and 24th.

The Global Entrepreneurship Week activities will be held between September and November for the 8th consecutive year in partnership with the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation and Department of E-Commerce. Additionally in November the YEI will serve as Project Managers for the Department of E-Commerce Bermuda Technology Innovation Awards.

In 2015 we will initiate our new strategic partnership with Junior Achievement Worldwide intended to bring the best practice in youth enterprise education into all schools in Bermuda. During 2015 we intend to launch this partnership with a pilot program in selected middle schools.

The YEI Board of Director’s task is to identify and secure the resources necessary to provide entrepreneurial training and support for young Bermudians and to herald the accomplishments of these aspiring young entrepreneurs with awards and public recognition
