RUBiS Draw For Change
WELCOME TO

Draw 4 Change.

Draw 4 Change is the 1st Phase of RUBiS’ 2019 Fuelling 4 a Cause (“F4aC”) Initiative.

Draw 4 Change was made possible through the support of our partners:

  • The Bermuda Road Safety Council
  • The Royal Gazette

Draw 4 Change’s mission is to raise awareness and public engagement in various elements of Road Safety.

By channelling our children’s creative talents via an Artwork Contest, the public can understand how we can stay safe on our roads by practicing safer driving habits.


 

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Any Primary, Middle, or Senior School Student may participate. There are four (4) School Grade Categories:

  • Primary 1 through 3
  • Primary 4 through 6
  • Middle School (M1 through M3)
  • Senior School (S1 through S4)

Each participating School will select up to five (5) artwork pieces per Grade Category, however there will be only one (1) submission per student accepted. Schools that wish to participate are requested to confirm their intent to the Draw 4 Change Team on or before Friday, 10 May 2019. Notification of intent may be delivered by:

WHAT TYPE OF ARTWORK IS ALLOWED?

The artwork may be a drawing, painting, collage, photograph, graphic design, or any other 2-Dimensional piece.

Artwork should be able to demonstrate what role road users should engage to stay safe. Road users may be trucks, buses, cars, bike riders, cyclists, equestrians, or pedestrians.

SUBMISSION CRITERIA INCLUDES:

  • Horizontal in layout
  • Artwork to fit within Template supplied by RUBiS
  • The Royal Gazette will publish free copies of the Template in the newspaper on Wednesday, 01 May and Thursday, 16 May
  • Final Submission: 18 June 2019
  • No mat, frame, or border should be adhered to artwork.

KEY DATES

The official artwork submissions selected by the participating Schools are to be received by the RUBiS Head Office between Thursday, 20 June and Tuesday, 25 June 2019.

RUBiS can collect the submissions from the Schools.

CONTEST PRIZES

All participants whose entries were selected by their Schools will receive a Certificate of Participation from the Bermuda Road Safety Council.

There will be a Grade Category Winner, and 2nd Place & 3rd Place Honourable Mentions. Their prizes shall be:

  • A Certificate of Participation from the Bermuda Road Safety Council;
  • Artwork featured in the 2020 RUBiS Calendar (along with their own personal copy of the calendar)
  • Gift Cards
    • Category Winner - $125 Gift Card
    • 2nd Place - $75 Gift Card
    • 3rd Place - $50 Gift Card
  • PLUS, Category Winner earns his/her School a $250 Gift Card

STOP! There’s more!

All submitted artworks will receive points for their school. These points will determine which schools will be invited to be one of the 10 – 12 Schools to participate in RUBiS’ 2019 Fuelling 4 a Cause (“F4aC”) Campaign in November.

F4aC 2019 participation will guarantee every school a minimum $1,000 donation from RUBiS, plus the opportunity to increase that amount via F4aC Activation & 2020 Fuel Your Spirit Days at RUBiS Service Stations.

The schools that have Grade Category winners and Honourable Mention winners will be auto-invited to participate in 2019 F4aC. In the event a school has multiple winners, there will also be 4th & 5th place-holders in each grade category for scoring purposes and provide an opportunity to increase the amount of 2019 F4aC participating schools up to a maximum of twelve (12).

 

NOTICE

F4aC may copy and modify any entry submission for reproduction. Artwork submissions will not be returned and may be used for future marketing initiatives by RUBiS. The parents/legal guardians of any winning student may be asked for a photo of the student to highlight their achievements in the contest.
